After studying at art school in Canterbury and Brighton, Charlotte became involved in the art of dyeing and distressing at the Royal Opera House before moving into teaching art at Benenden. This was followed by a change of focus as she became interested in developing her talent as a topiarist / garden consultant / designer, and this has led to a number of TV appearances and magazine articles.
Though painting and drawing sometimes has to take a back seat, Charlotte loves to get back to her 2-D work and prefers to spend time outdoors working from observation - most often tree / plant inspired - working in oils, charcoal, Indian inks and occasionally in acrylics. Charlotte also creates lino-cuts in her garden studio which will be open as a gallery space throughout the exhibitions. |
